Summary: Onix is looking for a GCP Data Engineer for its cloud and Big Data projects within the Data Warehousing and Data Analytics domains. In this role, you will develop data-driven solutions with cloud-based technologies to meet evolving business needs, deliver impactful, scalable and high-performing data solutions for our customers based in U.S., U.K., Canada and India, provide technical design and develop ETL/ELT applications that interface with Onix's customer applications and collaborate with larger development teams while also leading and developing Test Strategy, Test Plans and Test Cases to test these cloud-based solutions.Location : Philadelphia, PA

Primary Responsibilities:Drive analysis to understand and meet all technical specifications and business requirements, according to the established designsWork extensively to develop Test Strategy, Test Plans and Test Cases to test cloud-based solutionsAnalyze issues identified during the testing phase while then proposing new solutions to solve these issuesProvide senior-level technical consulting support with peers and other data engineers during the design, development and testing stages for highly-complex and critical data projectsWork extensively throughout the cloud ecosystem to migrate data from Teradata, Netezza, similar on-prem Big Data platforms, etc. to cloud-based platforms like BigQuery, SQL, etc.Preferred Skills & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldApproximately 8+ years of experience with proven experience with data platforms and Big Data engineering functionsHands-on experience with SQL is highly preferred as is quickly learning skills to adapt to GCP's cloud native SQL (i.e. BigQuery)Hands-on experience with Python is highly preferred with Jupyter Notebooks experience also serving as a plusHands-on and deep experience working with Google Data Products (i.e. BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, etc.)Willingness to continuously learn and share learnings with othersCapability to collaborate with stakeholders and project leaders to understand requirements, deliverables and set expectations on tasks in which you will be responsibleAbility to work in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environmentAbility to work with business stakeholders and IT Teams to understand the requirements and quickly translate them into workable solutions using Python, SQL, GCP, BigQuery, etc.Experience working in an Agile and collaborative team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication, presentation and professional speaking skillsProven problem-solving skills with an attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and high standardsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
