API Software Engineer - Senior

Why This is an Exciting Role:

As a API Software Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics you will be responsible for providing application development and support to a tool that provides disseminatable data to be conveyed at the absolute first point of relevance allowing mission analytic users to view existing data or contribute new information in a collaborative environment.

API Software Engineer Duties Include:Provide Application Programming Interface (API) software development and technical services to support the Analytic and Engagement Applications (AEA)Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.Develop services for existing or proposed databases or data repositoriesReview and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test resultsProvide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software componentsPerform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirementsAdminister, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)What Makes BI&A Different:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and;Fourteen (14) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.Eighteen (18) years total of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for candidates without a qualifying bachelor's degree.Required Qualifications:

TS/SCI with Polygraph ClearanceTechnical experience with:

Elasticsearch solutions

Creating Elasticsearch indexesKnowledge of configuration of Elasticsearch clustersUtilizing Elasticsearch java API

Developing Java Web applicationsDeveloping RESTful ServicesDeveloping applications interfacing into Mongo DB

14years' experience with:Development of software solutions by analyzing system performance standardsAssisting with development and execution of test procedures for software componentsDesigning, developing, and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designEnsuring quality control of all developed and modified softwareDelegate programming and testing responsibilities to one or more teams and monitoring their performanceWriting or reviewing software system documentation

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with vertx web service is a plus.Experience with consuming and writing web servicesExperience with generating technical documentationExperience with writing Linux based scripts for code integration and cron jobs using Bourne Shell, C, or Python and work in a command line environmentExperience working in an Agile software development environmentExperience managing software code using Git & MAVENExperience using with Jira and Confluence

Telework/Remote Availability: Hybrid work schedule; 16-hours per week approved

Summary Pay Range:

$175,000 - $209,000
