We are looking for an enthusiastic, technically strong Software/Embedded focused Manager to lead the team of SW Architects in our rapidly growing global team. This individual will enjoy collaborating with a diverse team and establishing strong relationships with other leaders, while learning and sharing knowledge.Job Responsibilities:Lead the team of Software Architects within the Bose Automotive Software Department.

Leadership of the SW Architect function.

Establishing a clear vision for the SW Architects with a delivery roadmap including interim milestones and long-term measures of success / key performance indicators.

Responsible for establishing uniform SW requirements processes, managing SW requirements, SW requirements coverage, planning, and execution of SW requirements across all projects.

Facilitate the dissemination of SW Architect best practices and aid in utilizing the toolkit. Offer support for training initiatives and contribute to reporting enhancements.

In charge of gathering and centralizing project data from SW architects and business stakeholders to generate routine reports and provide valuable insights for governance at all levels.

Acknowledge gaps between platform prime and customer requirements, take action to alleviate or resolve bottlenecks, and advocate for SW architects to influence customer and minimize the gap from Bose platform.

Act as the escalation contact for matters involving project planning, issues tracking, scope changes, risks, interfaces/dependencies, and project status reporting.

Oversee and effectively manage the performance of staff members, ensuring the achievement of your team's annual OKRs.

Attracts, develops, and retains high-caliber program/project leaders & individual contributors.

Provide monthly training on project methodology and other training as needed.

Work with customers to understand vehicle architecture and customers’ needs, analyze and propose a solution enabling seamless deployment & integration of Bose features.

Engage with customer to shape the final architecture to align with Bose reference designs.

Work with systems engineers and customer teams to turn software requirements into software architectures that are flexible, scalable, testable, and high-performance.

Work with the platforming team to ensure future software and hardware platforms include correct and well-documented software architecture; review and suggest improvements to architectures proposed by contracted and platforming project teams.

Take a lead role in technical solution definition during RFI/RFQ phases, estimate complexity and engineering cost for considered options, and work closely with Customer and Sales team to identify the best solution.

Review business context for solutions to company challenges; define the vision and requirements for the solution, recommend potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), identify the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution.

Lead collaboration among engineering leaders to create a process for defining, reviewing, evaluating, and improving software architectures.

Verify features’ processing needs to accommodate required feature set in solution, tailored to hardware and 3rd party software specification.

Balance design complexity with development cost, hardware cost, and time-to-market.

Be a part of an agile development team, ensure your deliverables are aligned with ASPICE, verified and documented.

Be ready to engage in software development, code reviews and testing; take ownership of the solution from vision to deployment.

Qualifications (minimum requirements):10+ years of software architect experience and have demonstrated history of effectively overseeing numerous software programs, exceling in defining and optimizing SW architecture within the realm of automotive software development.

Experience managing a SW architect team.

B.S. in Software, Computer Science Engineering or equivalent. M.S preferred.

12+ years of experience in embedded software development, including 5+ years developing automotive systems using C/C++.

Proven track record of creating and evolving software architectures, balancing requirements of multiple customers and platforms.

Good understanding of signal processing, experience within Audio Domain is a plus.

Experience with tools used in automotive domain for requirements engineering, software architecture development, experience in working with customer.

Design and development experience in embedded systems, from bare metal to RTOS; experience with QNX, hypervisors, AA is a plus.

Good understanding of ARM and DSP processors.

Experience working with customers; great negotiation and presentation skills are a must have.

Superb communication and collaboration skills, including communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and in various forums.

Ability to work with cross functional teams across various locations.

Located in the Greater Detroit area and can be onsite in Bloomfield Hills on Tues, Wed, Thurs every week.

One or more of the following is highly desirable.Familiarity with digital signal processing concepts

Familiarity with automotive technology, and networking busses and protocols
