OverviewMilliman is looking for a

Healthcare Data Analyst Intern

to support our consulting work with pharmaceutical manufacturers. As a Healthcare Data Analyst Intern, you will have an opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team to execute solutions using data-based approaches across a variety of coding platforms. Our solutions support pharmaceutical manufacturers' strategies for their products. You will be part of a dynamic client delivery team and receive mentoring from colleagues on your team. Successful data analyst interns are problem solvers, have the ability to code with a willingness to learn more, and are able to communicate technical results in a clear and concise manner.NOTE: This position is focused on the execution of internal projects with limited client interaction. Please apply to the role that best aligns with your current long-term career goals.ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Analyze large, complex health and drug datasetsImplement data analysis plans to address project objectivesLearn and use coding languages to analyze data and check for reasonability of resultsBuild user-friendly and dynamic Excel modelsUtilize strong problem solving skillsEffectively communicate data analysis findings to the consulting team (verbally and written)Work efficiently in a multi-task environmentWork both independently and collaboratively on projects

QualificationsEnthusiastic about working with health-centric dataEager to learn new technologiesStrong written and oral communication skillsOrganizational and time management skillsDetail-oriented and capable of carrying out tasks independentlyInsightful, able to pose good questionsCollaborative team player

RequiredWorking toward a Bachelors or Masters Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, data science, statistics, economics, or another related quantitative fieldExperience with Microsoft Excel or other similar software for quantitative analysisExperience with coding languages (e.g., SAS, R, VBA, SQL) and a desire to learn moreWill have completed Bachelor's degree or higher, in an analytics or mathematics-related field, and available for full-time employment by summer 2026

The TeamThe pharmaceutical consulting team is a group of 40+ individuals in the Indianapolis Health practice from varying backgrounds including actuaries, data analysts, pharmacists, and graphic designers. This group works primarily with pharmaceutical manufacturers by combining healthcare and payer knowledge, available data, analytic rigor, and industry experience to produce strategic and tactical insights for their clients.LocationThis position is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis, IN.
