As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Geospatial Analyst/Remote Sensing Specialist to join our team and support our staffing and recruiting operations.

Lynker has an immediate opening for a

Geospatial Analyst

or

Remote Sensing Specialist

to support NOAA's Office for Coastal Management (OCM). The successful applicant will provide technical expertise related to coastal habitat mapping and land cover data production activities associated with NOAA's Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP). This is a full-time position with location preference for

Charleston, SC. with hybrid flexibility.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Quality assurance of multispectral imagery, ancillary data, and other production inputsPerform preprocessing of imagery, lidar, and GIS data to be used for land cover or habitat mapping classificationDevelop in-house land cover products and/or production workflows (classification, modeling, manual editing)Quality assurance of land cover data and associated derived data setsPerform accuracy assessment of land cover dataAssist with publishing and managing map/image servicesWrite metadata recordsAssist with the development of derivative products and tools that utilize land cover data (ex. Story Maps, web apps)Qualifications

Required:

B.S. plus 8-years' experience, or M.S. plus 2-years' experience in geography, remote sensing, GIS, engineering, geology, or related fieldWorking knowledge sufficient to evaluate land cover productsDemonstrated experience with image processing software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and/or eCognitionDemonstrated experience in habitat map and/or land cover data development and/or analysis of remotely sensed imagery or other geospatial dataKnowledge of Python, or other, scripting language required for automation of processing and data management tasksKnowledge of, or experience with, the application of machine learning/artificial intelligenceAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to pass a National Agency Check and fingerprinting background check and maintain it through the duration of employment.Preferred:

Experience with processing of lidar derivativesPractical application of machine learning, artificial intelligence, or data science applications for remotely sensed dataKnowledge of coastal management and coastal processesFamiliarity with wetland identification and characterizationAbout Lynker
