Overview:
Must be a US CitizenOngoing positionW2 with Full BenefitLocation - NOAA NWS OBS; 1325 East West Highway, Silver Spring, MD 20910Position is hybrid-- 3 days/wk on-site.Salary Range - $90-98KProvide IT Security Specialist III support to meet customer requirements.Responsibilities:Analyzes information security systems and applications and recommends and develops security measures to protect information against unauthorized modification or loss. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Qualifications:BS/BA degree in a related area (or equivalent), and 4 to 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.Has knowledge around documentation requirements for yearly audits.Has worked closely with a system to get an ATOUnderstands security concepts and risk mitigationHas performed an active role in Audit's and artifact collection.Has excellent communication skills.Preferred experience with SSP rev 4 and rev 5, more specifically with the differences between these.Has experience with scanning systems and the use of a variety of tools including Nessus. More specifically how to categorize and report on vulnerabilities from the findingsHas written disaster recovery plans for System OwnersHas created risk assessment reports.
