Job Summary

Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Is expected to work independently, making decisions with considerable thought and appropriate justification in moving tasks forward. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

This position is anticipated to start 10/01/2024.

Responsibilities

Designs and builds relational databases for data storage, processing, analytics, and visualization.

Develops, implements and optimizes tables, views, stored procedures, indexes, functions, dictionaries, and complex ad-hoc queries using T- SQL for SQL Server databases.

Develops, tests and deploys reports, dashboards, query tools, and apps to production environments.

Develops, tests and administers usability protocols/study for various health informatics data tools.

Designs, develops, tests, tunes, and implements ETL processes and/or pipelines using SSIS /Azure Synapse Analytics.

Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to ETL , database and report development standards, templates, and processes.

Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and fix SSIS ETL packages, reports ( SSRS /PowerBI), and apps (PowerApps).

Monitor and support automated SQL Agent jobs or scheduled pipelines that ingest, process, & deliver data for consumption by customers/end users.

Works independently, but in collaborative team setting using source control best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

2-3 years’ working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.

1-2 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.

1-2 years’ working knowledge of Visual Studio\ SQL Server Data Tools.

1-2 years’ working experience with EHR data.

1-2 years’ experience with Team Foundation Server ( TFS ), GitHub, or DevOps.

1-2 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and/or PowerBI.

1-2 years’ experience with SharePoint.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Some experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, Azure Synapse Analytics.
