About Our Client:

Our client, a leader in financial services, is seeking a Federal Regulatory Affairs Consultant to support their policy and regulatory initiatives. This contract position runs until mid-November and offers a fully remote work environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial services trade associations and regulatory affairs.

Job Description:

The Federal Regulatory Affairs Consultant will be responsible for monitoring federal regulatory developments, leading policy analysis, and coordinating efforts with industry associations. This role will serve as the primary liaison for committees, develop policy positions, and represent the organization in meetings with federal policymakers.

Key Responsibilities:

Issue Identification and Analysis:

Monitor and analyze federal regulatory issues affecting financial services.

Formulate policy positions and engagement strategies for emerging regulations.

Collaborate with industry associations to advocate for consensus on policy matters.

Committee Liaison:

Lead and serve as the main contact for committees focused on securities, retirement plans, and taxes.

Direct working groups and task forces to address specific regulatory challenges.

Effective Communication:

Draft comment letters, testimonies, and talking points for federal policymakers.

Represent the organization in advocacy meetings to discuss key policy issues.

Resource Management:

Maintain trackers and resources to keep members informed of regulatory developments.

Build relationships with federal policymakers to enhance advocacy efforts.

Additional Responsibilities:

Collaborate on operational, research, and membership growth initiatives.

Assist in planning and staffing conferences and events.

Manage and update content on the organization’s website.

Provide regular updates to leadership and the board on regulatory issues.

Participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in financial services trade associations, working with members, committees, and on Capitol Hill.

Experience in policy writing, leading meetings, analyzing regulatory issues, and managing working groups.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and dependability.

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant experience may compensate.
