Chief Executive Officer –Executive Director and/or Vice President of Operations General Responsibilities: Working cooperatively with the CEO, designs, implements association-wide strategic plan that identifies short- and long-term objectives and requirements. Implements core YMCA values, elite customer service, programs and mission; develops and maintains effective communication with CEO. Works to establish association-wide goals and objectives in the Rome branch. Initiates, establishes, develops, and manages collaborative relationships with key industry and governmental partners; performs outreach to business and community to gain support for organization. Oversees the financial management of the Branch by coordinating annual budgetary planning and tracking, monitoring budgets, managing financial statements and reconciliations; possess signing authority. Identifies resource needs and seeks additional project funding; develops foundation grants to support programs, general operating expenses, and special projects. Cultivates relations with donors, foundations, and corporations for the Branch. Supervises and organizes department fundraising efforts in concert with Association-wide special events. Oversees program evaluation tools, working with trainers and collaborating organizations to evaluate programs effectively. Develops and implements creative local promotional programs; develops marketing materials and presentations. Hires, motivates, develops, and supervises program, maintenance, director on duty and other part-time staff and consultants/trainers; evaluates staff members and develops staff potential. Ensures outstanding customer/member service and meets all best practice standards. Implements character development and the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all programs and all aspects of the branch operations. Directs the annual sustaining membership campaign with Regional Membership director. Directs staff and volunteers on implementation of membership campaigns. Directs staff and volunteers in the development of program and membership enrollment strategies. Coordinates staff and volunteer development, which includes recruitment, team building, training, evaluation, recognition, termination, etc. Directs staff leadership of all program departments. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies in service delivery. EFFECT ON END RESULT: The Branch Executive is responsible for the overall success of the branch and its operating units. This position is primarily concerned with ensuring quality programs and building positive long-term relationships with members. This branch is viewed as a resource to the total association as it strives to meet its mission and goals. Therefore, successful fulfillment of this position should be measured by: Assist with the completion of the Rome YMCA Capital Campaign ($20 million project) to construct a new YMCA in Rome. Transition the membership, programs and services to the new YMCA in a strategic, seamless system designed to grow and strengthen membership. Continued growth of the budget, membership, and program enrollment. Increased utilization of volunteers in YMCA programs. The effectiveness of the regional fundraising committees. Increased diversity in membership of lay leaders and members to match the demographics of the community involvement. Achievement of branch operating objectives. Achieving the annual giving membership campaign goal. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field or equivalent. YMCA Director Status (required/preferred). Proven experience growing an organization. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates. Proven leadership and business acumen skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent presentation skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Acute attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects. Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees. Proficient on [insert computer programs required for position]. Notes: This position is specifically for the Rome Family YMCA branch of the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley. The Rome YMCA is currently engaged in a $20 million capital campaign to construct a new YMCA on Griffiss Business & Technology Park, in the former Woodhaven site of Griffiss Airforce Base. The Rome YMCA was established in 1871 and is considered a staple in the community, a solid community partner, and a friend of Rome City School District and the City of Rome, as well as Oneida County. The YMCA operates 14 school age child care sites in the region. Work Environment:
