Senior UX/UI Designer –

*We are open to supporting 100% remote work anywhere within the US.Job DescriptionWe seek a UX Designer to be a part of a growing team of designers, researchers, and writers working to design and deliver software products on behalf of our clients in federal government. You will collaborate with other members of an Agile product team to research, design, and deliver experiences that are useful, usable, beautiful, and intuitive. Your human-centered approach will help to understand what users need to succeed, whether they are members of the public accessing government services, federal employees carrying out their office, or administrators and policymakers seeking to make the government work better. This professional will contribute to the UX design and modernization of federal IT products across various agencies, creating applications that provide government and public users with great experiences.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the UX vision and strategy established by project leadership in alignment with business objectives.Build empathy with users and understand their needs, using research skills like interviewing, concept validation, design reviews, participatory design, and user testing to help generate validated UX designs.Ideate to discover and develop designs that solve user experience problems as identified by your project team.Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to describe, communicate, and test proposed user experiences.Review designs with quality assurance and development teams to answer questions and support successful implementation.Clearly communicate design process and rationale of decisions with internal and external stakeholders.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction or related field.5+ years of applied UX/UI design experience in the software industry.Able to provide a portfolio demonstrating your design process and deliverables.Candidate must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US, and work must be performed in the US.Candidate must have resided in the US 3 of the last 5 years.Candidate must be eligible for public trust.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of WCAG 2.0 Level AA / Section 508 compliance preferred.Experience in federal contracting or healthcare IT preferred.Solid foundation in software UX industry best practices including design thinking.Professional SkillsComplete tasks effectively and on schedule as part of a broader development team.Participate in an Agile process to learn quickly and iterate on your project’s user experience based on insights from real users.Able to work within a design system, style guides, content guides, and proven industry patterns to deliver UX.Create designs that are easy to use, accessible, and visually appealing to the user.Strong skills with creative tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Sketch.Demonstrate excellent written, visual, and verbal communication.Ability to work successfully with a cross-functional, diverse, and distributed remote development team.Working at ICFICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, but we’re not your typical consultants.
