Prince William County’s Department of Development Services is offering creative, challenging and rewarding work as a Residential Combination Inspector. We are looking for motivated professionals who will take the lead and solve problems.The Department of Development Services promotes staff and customers working in a partnership through effective and efficient development processes to ensure compliance with building regulations. We are looking for customer-service minded individuals for our Inspections Branch to provide high quality service to our customers while embracing their essential role as “first preventers.” This position offers paid training and County-sponsored educational opportunities!About This Role:Perform residential and commercial construction inspectionsConduct project researchWrite inspections reportsPerform data entry into the EnerGov Permitting SystemAssist customers in navigating the different programs required for permitting and inspecting construction related projectsBrainstorm different approaches to resolve customer issuesMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or G.E.D. and 3 years of related (building construction and/or building code) experience.Work Schedule:This position works a standard Monday-Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours per week. This position does not offer any telework availability.Special Requirements:Successful completion of a DMV CheckSuccessful completion of a Pre-Employment PhysicalMust become certified by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development as a Technical Assistant to the Building Official within 18 months of employment and certified as a Virginia Residential Combination Inspector within 36 months of employment.Starting Salary Range:$31.96 - $39.14 per hour ($62,322.00-$76,323.00 annually)Note:
