Overview:

The Director of Racquets Professional is a highly visible and pivotal role at Brookside Country Club (BCC), requiring strong leadership, presence, and communication skills with both members and staff. They are expected to be a passionate advocate for racquet sports, fostering enthusiasm and engagement within the team and membership community. A key focus is the development and motivation of an effective and dedicated team, leading to high levels of member satisfaction and retention.

They will work closely with the General Manager, Racquets Committee, racquets staff, and other departments to ensure clear and consistent communication regarding expectations, organization, labor costs, services, and overall operations. The position encompasses aspects of tennis, pickleball, and ping pong operations, including facility utilization, program oversight, and execution to deliver the best experience for both members and guests.

They will forecast, plan, and manage all facets of the department, including instructional programs, staff mentorship and supervision, social and competitive programming, and ensuring the highest level of member service. The goal of the racquets program is to deliver a consistent member and guest experience that meets or exceeds expectations while delivering ongoing program growth. They will strive to maximize revenues through creative planning and strategies that enhance participation and improve the member experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

Create an inclusive culture for all levels of racquet sports players.

Facilitate educational pathways for juniors and adults, ensuring a progression from beginner to advanced levels.

Develop and implement a variety of tennis clinics tailored to different skill levels, ensuring each session is engaging, educational, and meets the goals of participants.

Develop and implement a teaching philosophy that embraces BCC's values and traditions, and incorporate, standardized teaching methodologies as appropriate.

Organize, schedule, and manage racquets, tournaments, interclub teams, clinics, round robins, social events, and other tennis, pickleball, and related activities to maximize members' access to and enjoyment of the facilities.

Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate part-time staff to deliver outstanding programs and services.

Develop and oversee a facility and grounds maintenance plan.

Maintain accurate records, supervise expenditures, and assist in departmental planning.

Additional Responsibilities:

Manage the reservation system for tennis and pickleball courts.

Prepare weekly promotional items for the website, social media platforms, and e-blasts.

Play an active role in welcoming new club members to the racquets program and encouraging their participation in the BCC racquets community.

Ensure racquets facilities are prepared for daily use.

Work Culture:

Employees work on-site in an office and outdoor environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Appropriate balance of time managing racquet facilities, plus teaching BCC programs.

Qualifications:

Possess and maintain a USPTA or USPTR certification.

Valid Act 33 (Child Abuse)/Act 34 (Criminal History) clearances.

CPR/AED credential or the ability to obtain within 90 days.

Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a Pennsylvania one within 30 days.

Complete Mandated Reporter Training as required by Pennsylvania.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range $40K-$100K+.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death, and disability insurance, plus a 401(k) plan.

Ten days of paid time off annually after one year of service.
