Data Analyst Specialist
The Data Analyst Specialist at Ranger College will be proficient in the latest analytics tools and processes to maximize offerings and deliver data driven service and support. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization. Additionally, this person should be committed to transforming data into readable goal-oriented reports that drive Evidence Based Grant Making. There is a potential for hybrid work environment.
Objectives of this role
Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworksIdentify trends in Special Populations to target successful grant deliverables via analysis of complex datasetsEvaluate methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for datasetsCreate best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualizationEvaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning dataWork directly with Perkins Leadership grant mangers to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationshipsResponsibilities
Work closely with Perkins leadership to understand and maintain focus on their analytics needs, including actionable insights to relevant decision-makersProficient in data analytics required in Evidence Based Grant MakingProactively analyze data to answer key questions for stakeholders or yourself, with an eye on what drives grant performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and/or productivityCreate and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sourcesDefine and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting an appropriate combination of methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solutionDevelop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasetsRequired skills and qualifications
Three or more years of experience as a data analystProven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualizationTechnical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentationsStrong database and excel skills, with aptitude for learning analytics toolsMust have knowledge and experience with Randomized Control Trials, the evaluation cycle, and measuring p valuePreferred skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in mathematics, computer science, economics, statistics, or related areaExperience with database and model design and segmentation techniquesStrong programming experience with frameworks, including XML, JavaScript, and ETLPractical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packagesExperience in mining, analyzing and providing data for grant deliverables and performanceProven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
ANNUAL SALARY/BENEFITS: Highly competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Group health and life insurance (60 day waiting period for health) and retirement benefits (TRS or ORP). Optional benefits include vision, disability and dental insurance.
