NOC Engineer

As a NOC Engineer at Ezee Fiber, you will be an integral part of our Network Operations Center (NOC), responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports our internet service delivery. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of our network, responding to incidents, and coordinating with various teams to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:Network Monitoring and Management:

Continuously monitor network performance and health using various network monitoring tools and systems.Identify, analyze, and resolve network incidents and issues, ensuring minimal impact on service delivery.Perform regular network checks to ensure systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

Respond to network alerts, investigate issues, and perform initial diagnostics to identify the root cause of problems.Escalate complex issues to higher-level engineers or support teams when necessary.Document incident details, resolutions, and follow-up actions in the incident management system.

Maintenance and Configuration:

Assist in the configuration and deployment of network devices and equipment.Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patch management, and system backups.Support network change management processes, including implementing and testing changes.

Customer Support and Communication:

Provide timely and accurate updates to customers regarding network outages, performance issues, and maintenance activities.Collaborate with customer support teams to address and resolve customer-reported network issues.Ensure effective communication with internal teams during major incidents and service disruptions.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed records of network incidents, changes, and configurations.Generate and analyze network performance reports and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.Contribute to the creation and maintenance of operational documentation, including procedures and troubleshooting guides.

Continuous Improvement:

Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to identifying opportunities for process and system improvements.Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies, trends, and best practices to enhance network operations.

Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Experience:

2+ years of experience in network operations or related roles, preferably in an ISP or large-scale network environment.Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Observium).Experience with network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) and their configuration.Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
