Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), Position Description Number T6324000 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist (Network Services/Systems Administration), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the senior system administrator providing planning, directing, and coordinating of Command and Control (C2) missions systems' installation, maintenance and support. Serves as lead system administrator, trainer and supervisor, and provides Information Assurance (lA) support. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistance, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaption of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have experience in in-depth understanding and analysis of IT issues in the assigned areas. Must have the ability to make decisions concerning what has to be done typically involve assessment of situations complicated by continuing changes in system configuration to meet mission needs and rapidly evolving technology and security threats. Must have experience with independent, or interagency coordination, to develop new methods and techniques to resolve highly complex technical issues. Must have experience with a broad range of IT principles, methods, advancements, policies, systems concepts and analysis, design, development, testing and applications to include hardware and software. Must have knowledge of ,and skill in supporting the parent organization's and subordinate organizations' network architecture, topology and protocols; ability to study existing architecture of installation systems and test possible enhancements. Must have knowledge of, and skill to install and maintain software and hardware, control current versions and future releases of application software, and document the physical configuration of the organization's information systems and command and control (C2) systems.
