Job Summary:

Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Director, Healthcare Management Consulting.

VHRxS Overview:Vanderbilt Health RX Solutions, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Our primary mission is to build patient-centered, clinically integrated specialty pharmacy programs in collaboration with our health system customers. Founded on the proven success of VUMC’s internal specialty pharmacy, VHRxS draws on years of experience to help our partners build successful programs of their own. Our dynamic and growing team is seeking an experienced business leader and client solution lead to lead and deliver complex projects and strengthen customer relationships while continuing to drive business growth.

The VHRxS Director role is a critical member of the commercial team, with a primary focus on contributing to the growth of VHRxS and delivery of top-quality project work, as well as developing and strengthening relationships with VHRxS’ health system partners to ensure long-term success. The Director will report to the Executive Director of VHRxS.

Responsibilities:

Create and deliver business strategies and project plans to meet the objectives of VHRxS’ health system partners through rigorous data analysis, research, pharmacy knowledge, strategic assessments, program design and innovative thinking.

Lead multiple health system partners to maximize specialty pharmacy potential, including meeting all project objectives on schedule.

Collaborate with VHRxS’ third-party consulting partners, when necessary, to deliver high-quality project work as part of the Advisory Services practice.

Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams of specialty pharmacy subject matter experts and third-party consulting partners.

Lead communications to ensure open and consistent flow of information and high customer satisfaction.

Develop and nurture strong relationships with health system partners, helping to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Present key project updates to VHRxS leadership and partner health system stakeholders.

Actively explore opportunities to strengthen relationships with existing partners through all phases of work.

Support business development activities, including presentation development, proposals, and site visits to Vanderbilt’s specialty pharmacy facility.

Lead business functions such as developing solutions, innovating new products or services, coordinating sales, marketing, business development, solution development and backoffice needs.

Escalate risks and concerns proactively and often through appropriate channels to resolve and mitigate internal or client-facing issues or challenges.

Develop strong cross-functional relationships across Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Demonstrate a commitment to upholding VUMC’s Credo and to strengthening the positive culture of VHRxS.

Technical Skills:

Demonstrated expertise in MS Office Suite of products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project); ability to synthesize large data sets, build pivot tables, use formulas and assumptions based models.

Ability to complete market sizing and financial analysis, business cases and forecasting; familiarity with healthcare provider economics.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) and 5 years’ experience.

Ability to establish immediate credibility with health system partners, team members, and senior executives; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence.

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, and to demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset to growing the business.

Ability to create high-quality deliverables and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Creative thinking and ability to seek innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems.

Self-starter and individual contributor.

Travel up to 50%; VHRxS has health system partners across the country, and much of our Advisory Services work may require on-site consulting delivery. Travel requirements will vary based on customer preference and internal job responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

10-12+ years of work experience, preferably in healthcare business or management consulting / professional services.

Proven success managing and delivering complex, large-scale business projects within a healthcare setting.

Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and interfacing with senior business leaders.

Experience developing solutions and growing businesses, including critical infrastructure.

Master's degree and/or professional certifications are preferred.
