Primary responsibilities:
Assist in designing multi-site Splunk cluster that can handle Around 400 tera bytes per day ingestion volume across all clustersData pipeline integration with Kafka, Splunk and deployed on Kubernetes.Provide day-to-day support on maintaining a large Splunk implementation (multi tera bytes per day log volume)Work with Application teams (the users of Splunk) to resolve any usability issues reportedDevelop monitoring for ensuring Splunk infrastructure health (Disk usage, CPU/Memory usage, Performance)Ensure Splunk infrastructure is up and running and performing with maximum efficiency 24X7Develop reports on Splunk usage share with team and upper managementInstall and maintain Splunk Universal forwarder on Application/Web/DB serversPerform upgrades and patch installs of Splunk infrastructureIdentify opportunities for Application teams to add Splunk Knowledge ObjectsEnsure Splunk Universal Forwarder is up and running on all the identified Application/Web/DB ServersWork with Splunk Support to resolve any issues on timeThoroughly document any procedures to support Splunk InfrastructureWrite scripts to automate Splunk Administration activitiesProvide explanation and information to others on difficult issuesIdentify/quantify scope and impact of business changes on systemsMaintain awareness of current technology assets, and the applicability and capability of eachRequired Qualifications:
2 years' hands-on experience in administering Splunk platform2 years' hands-on experience with automation tools preferably Kafka, Cribl, syslog.2 years' experience in using configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible4 years' experience in a software development or software support roleMinimum 2 years Administering Unix/Linux, Windows and/or NetworkExcellent Shell scripting and/or Programming skill in any languageExperience with Agile methodologyProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslySupport experience in a large enterprise environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in APM/Monitoring tools (New Relic, Dynatrace, DC RUM)Experience in supporting Application Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat)Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)Experience with Automation and SRE tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Gitlab, Github Actions.
