Futures Trader Precious Metals / Base Metals
Role
We are seeking a futures trader to supplement the team's Precious Metals/Base Metals trading desks. The role will entail modelling/building new strategies along with managing, improving the existing strategy base across the desks. The ideal candidate has experience trading metals on LME, CME as well as OTC markets. We are looking for someone with a blend of strong technical capabilities, adaptability to rapidly changing market conditions, and a talent for collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize Precious/Base Metals trading strategies to ensure accurate pricing across a diversity of trading venues.
Vigilantly manage intraday risk profiles and accumulated positions.
Work in tandem with overnight trading teams to refine and validate our trading models.
Assess trading system performance.
Prioritize trading objectives and document evolving trading methodologies.
Collaborate with our software development team to oversee the deployment of innovative dashboards and analytical tools.
What You'll Need:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Minimum 2 years of successful experience in a trading role, specifically in the Precious Metals and/or Base Metals markets.
Experience in Gold, Silver, Palladium, Platinum, Copper, Aluminum, Zinc or Lead.
Strong understanding of the fundamentals that drive Precious Metals and/or Base Metals behavior.
Proficiency in designing and executing trading and hedging strategies based on detailed market analysis.
Exceptional leadership skills, complemented by a robust work ethic, organizational finesse, and analytical rigor.
Professional poise and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
A performance-driven mindset, resilience under high-pressure scenarios, and the judgment to make informed decisions.
Familiarity with proprietary trading platforms is preferred.
Coding experience would be a significant asset, although not mandatory.
