We are looking for Software Developer, Transmission Grid Applications to contribute to the development of the company's industry-leading Energy Management System (EMS). In this role, you will be a member of an Agile development team building integrated real-time solutions used to optimize, manage, and control the operation of the electrical transmission grid. This role's contributions will make a highly visible impact on software that has a direct impact on thousands of ily users, as well as the millions of utility customers whose reliability of service depends on these applications. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a fundamental understanding of software development techniques while possessing passion to learn and excel your expertise to the next level. You will also need to have the self-motivation and management to plan and execute moderate complexity development projects to successful completion. Your Impact Collaborate with other developers, product managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and implement best-in-class software to meet our customers' complex needs. Maintain existing power system software applications and internal tools. Assist in code and design reviews. Train and mentor other team members in your area of expertise. Take part in agile team ceremonies such as scrum, sprint planning, and retrospective. Identify areas of improvement within the current software solution. What You'll Need Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field. 2+ years if experience coding in C and/or other similar coding languages. Understanding of algorithms and complex data structures. Ability to adapt to feedback and changing requirements. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of the utility industry and power grid operations. Experience with APIs and daemon processes. A passion for learning and working on complex problems. Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. Strong self-awareness.
