Director, Human Resources, Distribution CenterYour Role At Sephora

As a Director, Human Resources, Distribution Center, you will provide thought leadership and strategic business direction for all talent strategies tied to the operations of the Distribution Center. You will partner with FSC and other Distribution Centers in the network to deliver a spectrum of strategic HR initiatives and programs aligned with Sephora’s people goals and strategies. In this role, you will create and support strategic workforce plans that are aligned with business strategies and objectives and apply diagnostic skills and core metrics to guide and shape appropriate and innovative HR solutions. You will provide recommendations to guide decision-making related to positively impacting the employee experience. Finally, you will be accountable for retention, engagement, people leadership development, succession and career planning, and building a local safety culture, while also sharing business inputs with HR Center of Excellence leaders enabling them to create business-focused solutions supporting the organization. You will drive Sephora’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all actions.You will manage 1 to 2 Distribution Centers; a team of 10 to 12 HR associates; and have oversight of an employee population ranging from 1000 to 1600 associates working across 3 to 4 shifts (which operate 24/7). You will report to the Vice President, HR Distribution Center Organization.Your Responsibilities Include

Plan & Align

Act as a strategic thought partner to the General Manager and Operational Leadership by developing and delivering a people strategy that optimizes the organization, structure, and effectiveness of the Distribution Center.Gather data, analyze trends, and provide internal and external insights and/or solutions to help guide and influence the operations of the varied shifts.Challenge and guide the team to continuously innovate HR processes and drive consistency in execution across the DC network.Participate and/or facilitate Distribution Center team participation in cross-functional projects where HR collaborates with Field and FSC subject matter experts to create programs that align with DC and Supply Chain goals.Seek to understand the external market pressures and evolving fulfillment technologies (e.g., robotic capability) to drive innovative solutions to continuously improve the talent and culture strategies.Lead with integrity, knowledge, and courage by providing informed solutions that challenge the status quo.Deliver local initiatives and events that align with Sephora’s goal to build a DC Safety Culture.Govern smart fiscal management over people programs and strategies (e.g., managing the mix of Full time, Seasonals and Temp. agency employees).Engage & Retain

Impact engagement, retention and create opportunities for growth by partnering with FSC Leadership to design DC relevant programs in areas of training, development, and talent management.Model the company’s development culture by holding intentional and consistent development conversations, succession planning, and creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.Monitor DC HR analytics, specific to DEI, Absenteeism, and Turnover, recognize gaps to plan and strategize mechanisms and programs to close the gaps.Continuously monitor and raise awareness of conflicting priorities, communications, and actions not in alignment with the company’s overall labor strategy.Learn & Develop

Manage and develop the HR team by identifying, delegating, and prioritizing workload to drive the execution of Distribution Center initiatives.Create long-term organizational success by actively developing your team’s skills, knowledge, and abilities in areas of manpower planning, labor strategy, use of HR analytics as well as leadership skills of influencing, coaching, development, and performance management.Demonstrate our Sephora values of Passion for Client Service, Innovation, Expertise, Balance, Respect for All, Teamwork, and Initiative.We would love to hear from you if you have:

10+ years of progressive HRBP experience; highly preferred HR experience supporting a Distribution Center along with 5+ years’ experience in a management level role.Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience leading and managing a team of HR professionals or others in a similar role.Well-developed industry knowledge, market insight, and proven enterprise thinking.Substantial experience providing strategic business-facing Human Resources consultation.Experience working with Executive level business partners required and demonstrated success operating at a strategic level.Strong leadership and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including influencing and ability to encourage innovation.Highly collaborative style. Willingness and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, across an organization with multiple locations.Strong planning and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency.While at Sephora, you’ll enjoy…

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
