Creighton University is seeking to hire a Systems Analyst in the School of Medicine in Omaha, NE. This is a full-time, grant funded position.The primary role of this data analyst position will be to assist the Creighton Community Collaborative team to set up and manage data collection, analysis, and reporting of information collected as part of an assessment of Social Determinant of Health (SDOH) screening and referral practices in our community.
Key ResponsibilitiesUse Creighton's implementation of REDCap Cloud (description at https://www.redcapcloud.com/) to manage, analyze, and report data.The analyst will work with data from clinical information systems and with clinician researchers to identify relevant cohorts of patients that meet criteria for research projects.Extract, interpret, and validate the data required; write programs used to analyze data; analyzes and interprets data and reports. This position will also support projects for internal departments within Clinical Research.Assist staff and/or faculty members in analyzing data for the purposes of planning and conducting research.Participate in publication of manuscripts.
QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience. Masters of Public Health with epidemiology concentration preferred.Five years' experience in database or system management.2-4 years of SQL experience; knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio is preferred.Knowledge of electronic health records databases within large hospital systems preferredExperience working in an academic setting preferredKnowledge of basic biostatistics preferredKnowledge of database design concepts.Demonstrated customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and is a team player with the ability to work well independently.Must possess above average organization skills, excellent communication skills, and can demonstrate independent problem-solving skills.
