Residency Program Coordinator

Under the direction of the FCM Program Manager, the Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support for the residency training program in compliance with organizational objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and requirements. The program coordinator will support learners including but not limited to faculty, residents, clinical fellows, graduate or undergraduate learners, and practicing or licensed professionals.

The Residency Program Coordinator will be responsible for administering the following broad categories:

Resident Support:

Serves as point of first contact for residents around logistical issues, external rotations, program events, and educational activities. Utilizes strong interpersonal and relationship-building expertise to support continuous open communication and engagement between and among program learners and stakeholders over the course of their three-year training program.

Residency Program Operations:

Works with the residency administrative team, staff, residents and/or faculty to meet the educational needs of program learners through collaborative development and implementation of programmatic activities. Assists with managing the Program Director’s calendar.

Residency Financial Management:

Inputs and monitors budgets for program social events and/or educational activities, which may include recruitment, orientation, graduation, conferences, and other activities.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting medical education to improve healthcare delivery for underserved and marginalized populations. They will share our mission to improve health through excellence in patient care, education, research, advocacy, and community empowerment. They will be a pragmatic problem-solver and a team player, with excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail, with at least 1 year of experience working in an office, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. This position requires the ability to carry out multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while encountering frequent disruptions in workflow from residents, faculty, and staff. The ability to manage one’s time effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned work is imperative, as is the maintenance of professionalism, customer service, and a calm demeanor when juggling multiple requests.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Minimum 1 year of related experience

Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems

Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.

Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.

Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.

Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
