Communications Manager, The Holy Cross Institute

The Communications Manager is essential to the smooth and efficient administration and operations of the Holy Cross Institute and to the support and execution of its mission. This is a full-time, twelve-month position, that is benefits-eligible position.The Holy Cross Institute at St. Edward's University is dedicated to advancing the mission and charism of Holy Cross through education, formation, and community engagement. Bachelor's degree

2-3 years of professional or management experience in a related area

Proven skills in written and oral communications, organization, project management, and event management.

High degree of organizational and administrative ability

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines efficiently

Detail-oriented, proactive, and team-oriented work ethic

Collaborative work style with a willingness to respond to an evolving set of priorities

Strong technology skills

Essential Responsibilities Include:

Assists in raising awareness about the Institute's programs and activities through disseminating information through mailing lists, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms and other means of communication.

Drafts and/or edits event announcements, web materials, social media entries, and other Institute publicity outreach.

manages most aspects of event preparation, execution, and follow-up.

Play a key role in scheduling and logistics, coordination and management of vendors, oversight of event budgets and payments, coordination of travel arrangements and accommodations

Assist the Executive Director with set up of contracts and independent contractor agreements, pay invoices, and always prepare and process financial transactions while adhering to Grantors and university restrictions and guidelines governing such transactions. S/he reconciles accounts on a monthly basis and maintains source documentation for transactions.

Play a role in the annual fundraising and corporate sponsorship program for the HCI and assists the Executive Director and the office of advancement with grant applications.

Responsible for regulatory and policy compliance as it applies to the position.

Performs other duties as assigned.
