Human Resources Systems (HRIS) Administrator

with our Human Resources Department in Lansing, MI.

Job Type: Full-Time

Starting Salary Range: $101,876. - $125,358.

Position Summary:

The HRIS Administrator will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Workday system, ensuring its optimal performance to support our organization's HR and business processes. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday's functionality, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Essential Functions:

System Administration:

Manage and maintain the Workday system, ensuring its reliability, availability, and performance.Perform regular system audits and data integrity checks.Ensure system compliance with organizational policies and procedures.Manage day-to-day operations of the Workday system, including user access, security configuration, and system maintenance.Perform regular audits and assessments to ensure the integrity and security of the Workday environment.Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, working closely with internal teams and external vendors as necessary.Monitor system performance and proactively address any potential issues.Provide technical support and guidance to Workday users across the organization.Configuration and Maintenance:

Configure and maintain Workday implemented modules including but not limited to HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, and Talent Management.Implement system enhancements, updates, and patches in accordance with Workday's release schedule.Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely manner.Implement and maintain integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems.Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure the Workday system complies with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards.Develop and maintain custom reports to meet business requirements.Generate and analyze reports to provide insights into business metrics, supporting data-driven decision-making.Support data extraction and reporting for internal and external audits.Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with HR, IT, and other departments to understand and address their system needs.Participate in cross-functional project teams to support new initiatives and system implementations.Communicate system changes and updates to relevant stakeholders.Continuous Improvement:

Stay current with Workday's features, functionalities, and best practices.Identify opportunities to optimize system usage and streamline processes.Participate in Workday community forums and user groups to share knowledge and learn from other professionals.Project Management:

Lead and manage Workday implementation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and status reporting.Facilitate communication between stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of project goals.Required:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.A minimum of 7 years of experience in Project management, with a proven track record of leading Workday implementation or upgrade projects.Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of Workday HCM and other modules such as Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, and Talent Management.Proficiency in configuring and maintaining Workday business processes and security.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.Experience with report writing and data analysis using Workday reporting tools.Project management skills and experience in handling multiple tasks simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications:

Workday certification in one or more modules.Experience in supporting Workday integrations with other systems.Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.Knowledge of HR practices and principles.Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the working day. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office environment, including the use of stairs. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment. Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen. Must frequently communicate with other departments and employees both verbally and in writing. May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/below knee level or reach overhead. The person in this position needs to move about in industrial environments and on uneven terrain occasionally. May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, color on prints, and operate field instruments/equipment.

Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments.

Must successfully complete a background check, a substance screening and a physical (if applicable).
