Role and Responsibilities

At Samsung you will have opportunity to work with some of the smartest people on the planet in defining and launching great products. The Director of Product Management will ensure the team is efficient and effective as they develop a best-in-class experience, deliver competitive features that live up to our brand promise, create a high-converting customer experience and analyze market trends to identify new opportunities for the future including new sellout platforms. The position will need to create, sustain and leverage senior management-level relationships throughout the Retail, B2C, B2B, Marketing, Customer service, all LOBs, and the broader technology community. This role demands an extremely customer centric mindset, strong analytical skills, with an appetite for innovation, data-centric approach and a can-do attitude. This person will be the primary owner of all product features across our eCommerce platform, and will lead the product team to drive Samsung eCommerce initiatives related to

Samsung eCommerce B2C platform and experiences for Product discovery, product consideration and categorization, product purchase (PDP/Configurator) experiences for specific line of business product assortments on the website and app, especially in the areas of home electronics, home appliances and cross category experiences.

Samsung eCommerce B2B platform that defines the next generation engaging and high converting experiences for small medium and enterprise business offering Samsung products for sales and services.

Liaison between Samsung eCommerce, Product & corporate Marketing, HQ, Category Management/Senior Leadership and other local teams of checkout Fulfillment/Fraud/Retail partners for product initiatives.

Innovate and automate various front-end sellout platform features to reduce manual overhead and improve customer satisfaction.

Internalize and deeply understand Samsung’s mission and strategies, as well as the mission and objectives of the eCommerce team.

Work with cross-functional business, product and engineering teams in designing product solutions, finalizing estimates, budgets and plans/prioritize by building a strong roadmap, and launch products in a timely fashion with excellent business impact and strong customer focus.

Develop product strategies to improve revenue share (as percentage of eCom sales) and reduce NPS detractors, and partner with engineering to ensure strong execution, covering both web and mobile experiences.

Be data centric to make informed product direction, whether in the form of competitive intel, customer behavior or other business metrics. Solicit and embrace critical feedback.

Drive innovation, definition, deliverables planning (roadmap) and design of entirely new products and features to deliver against team and company goals.

Drive cross-functional team to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals.

Drive definition of and execution against product go-to-market plan, including phasing and training.

Clearly communicate product plans, benefits and results, as appropriate, to both internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.

Ability to work and communicate at ease with cross-functional teams across the globe.

Leader responsible for people management as well as building a strong team of product and design professionals.

Background and Experience Required

15+ years of experience with 10+ years in Product Management driving product engineering.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; computer science undergraduate degree or relevant engineering degree plus hands-on software engineering and program management experience strongly preferred.

Technical understanding must go from the highest abstractions down to the metal.

Strong eCommerce experience required with technical acumen.

Having prior experience in the consumer electronics space is a huge plus especially in the site and app experiences and front-end platforms, headless commerce, AEM, etc.

Experience managing teams across disparate locations.

Strong technical skills and proficiency in Confluence, JIRA.

Strong background using data to determine customer behaviors.

Proactive individual that is a self-starter and takes initiative.

A “leader” personality - biased toward action, great collaborator and master disambiguator/simplifier - constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

The salary range for this role, for candidates based in California, is expected to be between $265,000 and $300,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
