The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.Our mission is to be "the bank of choice" for middle market and professional service companies by establishing long term customer relationships and loyalty, providing superior products and services through a core of highly skilled and seasoned bankers.Job SummaryProvides leadership in the development of solutions and go-to-market strategies to support SMBC MANUBANK's commercial banking, with emphasis on receivable solutions such as Remote Deposit Capture, Mobile Check Deposit, Merchant Services and Cash Vault Services. As a member of the Product team, the product manager is accountable for developing strategies and recommending new product features and services for the purpose of growing customer adoption/use of product and services. Performs role of product advocate on cross-functional teams, presents new product proposals and/or enhancements that support achievement of revenue and profit objectives as well as contribute to the bank's growth strategy.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe a leader and a change agent: identify opportunities, develop solutions and go-to-market strategies, lead changes.Champion product line by clearly articulating product positioning, key benefits, and value proposition. This includes developing and maintaining the assigned product line roadmap, delivering product requirements and bringing new products and services to launch.Responsible for creating the strategic direction for the product line to ensure competitive, compliant, marketable, and profitable products are available for target customer segments.Evaluate and enhance actively sold and serviced products, identify opportunities for revenue enhancements, tracking profitability and managing changes to assigned products.Evaluate the impact of regulatory changes, risk assessments, incorporating Bank initiatives, and customer needs analysis on new and/or enhanced products and services.Responsible for leading cross-functional project teams in the creation and launch of new products and enhancements based on market needs, including partnering with Legal, Compliance, IT, Operations, Marketing and other stakeholders to create and execute effective product launches, promotions and campaigns.Partner with Operations and segment leaders to develop/maintain policies and procedures, document workflows to onboard clients and users.Create product collaterals, website content, sales materials to support the line and clients.Develop product promotions to acquire clients, deepen client relationships and bank the entire client relationship.Partner with other product managers to create offers to acquire the client relationship, including credit and cash management services.Partner with Marketing and the segment leaders to coordinate industry conferences, ensure the necessary product collaterals, banners are available.Position SpecificationsExperience, Skills & Qualifications:5+ years in product management and banking experience combined with emphasis on Cash Management products and services. Receivables and API banking experiences preferred.Strong project management and technical experience preferred.Education:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance. MBA preferred.Extensive ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.Extensive written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and project management skills.Ability to present findings and recommendations to the most senior levels of the organization.Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company and with vendor partners.Ability to build relationships with clients and effectively identify client challenges and requirements.Demonstrated ability to articulate strategic concepts and lay out a strategic course of action.Demonstrated ability to deliver product growth.Strong analytical skills and comfort with detail.Flexibility, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.Strong work ethic; self-motivated, passionate, and driven to achieve results.EOE STATEMENTWe are an equal employment opportunity employer.
