Director, Clinical Quality Oversight

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for consulting with the Board of Directors and providing strategic direction on the oversight of systems designed to monitor and ensure quality care and services for all members and patients across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include alleviating or resolving issues in quality improvement systems; aligning and directing others on resolving issues related to organizational standards; communicating best practices for maintaining the integrity of systems related to the selection, credentialing, and competence of healthcare practitioners; driving the implementation of systems for clinical privileges and continuing education; championing standardized processes for reviewing and approving medical staff Bylaws; and serving as a liaison for the oversight of contracted entities. This role also involves championing the peer review process, developing strategic insights based on feedback, and defining a strategic development plan to address needs and solve problems.

Essential Responsibilities:

Prepares individuals for growth opportunities; builds internal collaborative networks; solicits performance feedback; drives collaboration to set goals and provide coaching for performance improvement.

Oversees the operation of multiple units by identifying member and operational needs; ensures management of work assignment completion; translates business strategy into actionable requirements.

Serves as the subject matter expert for clinical quality improvement processes and regulations, providing consultation on policies and engaging in relevant initiatives.

Directs the quality of care complaints and review process, responding to and preparing documentation for sensitive patient case reviews.

Directs risk management efforts by defining standards for corrective action plans and root cause analysis in response to significant events.

Oversees development of new clinical quality improvement programs, maintaining relationships with stakeholders to ensure sustainability.

Improves data management programs by defining standards for quality improvement monitoring and analyzing trends.

Oversees regulatory audits and survey efforts, developing processes for implementing audit documentation standards.

Evaluates the cost effectiveness and appropriateness of medical care given to patients, partnering with stakeholders to ensure compliance with treatment procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) years of experience managing operational or project budgets.

Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a leadership role.

Minimum five (5) years of experience with databases and spreadsheets.

Minimum four (4) years of experience delivering training programs.

Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a clinical setting, healthcare administration, or a related field.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field AND Minimum seven (7) years of healthcare experience or a related field OR Minimum ten (10) years of experience in healthcare or a related field.

Professional Healthcare Quality Certificate within 24 months of hire.
