OverviewThe Senior Vice President, Revenue Cycle (SVPRC), will provide centralized leadership for all Revenue Cycle functions for Novant Health. The SVPRC will strategically oversee programs to ensure efficient operations of the organization’s Revenue Cycle program in order to generate sufficient cash flow to support operations and strategic initiatives. The SVPRC will partner with executive leadership to drive improvements in financial performance, compliance, and overall operational efficiency. The SVPRC reports to the Executive Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and will create effective and purposeful collaboration within Revenue Cycle, Financial, and Operational leadership to support organization goals and objectives. These objectives/goals include but are not limited to setting up effective and scalable revenue cycle operational models, Insourcing, Outsourcing and Hybrid business modes; Implementation and Optimization of Epic, Transitioning Revenue Cycle Services to an effective and scalable model and improving key performance indicators to leading standards.

As the lead, revenue cycle executive, the SVPRC has responsibility for the full scope of revenue cycle departments, services and functions for Novant Health ambulatory and acute centers and physician practices, including matrixed, non-matrixed and hybrid management models of operation over but not limited to: Scheduling, Access, Financial Services/Clearance, Admissions, Pre-authorizations, Utilization Management/Review, Charge Master/Revenue Integrity, Revenue Cycle Analytics, CDI/Coding/HIM, Billing and Collection, Payer Audits, Denial/Underpay Resolution, Revenue Cycle Training and Help Desk, Customer Call Center, Self-Pay, Collection Agencies and other Revenue Cycle Contracted Vendors with modifications as approved by the EVP CFO.

The SVPRC will align and integrate operations, performance and reporting with Novant Health and other vendors/services; and have direct oversight and responsibility for the revenue cycle projects impacting Novant Health. The SVPRC will be responsible for hospital billing, physician billing, and patient billing.

Responsibilities may include all components of onsite and vendor supported revenue cycle functions. The SVPRC will ensure supportive alignment with Health Information Technology, be a core member and approver of application design and build supporting Novant revenue cycle functions and performance; actively lead multi-disciplinary teams supporting and executing work plans to improve revenue cycle performance across hospital, ambulatory and multi-specialty physician services. Lead and contribute to integration of claims and other revenue cycle operations to a central business operations center, outsourcing or other hybrid operating models, support and lead standardization of revenue cycle policies, procedures, processes, and systems. Invest in the professional development of revenue cycle leadership and team members. Participate in applicable leadership meetings. Develop and maintain fiscally responsible Revenue Cycle Budgets; and develop and execute work plans to achieve exemplary and sustainable revenue cycle performance, service, staff retention for Novant Health.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate Degree, required. MBA, MHA, or MPH.

Experience: 12+ years of experience in revenue cycle management and leading a Revenue Cycle function within a complex health system, required. Minimum 10 years in a senior leadership role, required.

Additional Skills (required):

Extensive knowledge of hospital Revenue Cycle and regulatory requirements as they relate to the Revenue Cycle.

Significant experience with payers, providers, hospitals and physicians.

Extensive understanding of the requirements for facilitating accounts receivable resolution, cash flow, billing, revenue enhancement and patient service issues.
