Job DescriptionThis role will be a key partner that ensures seamless design, delivery, and execution of a full range of HR initiatives in support of the community’s HR initiatives and business objectives.

This role reports into our Vice President, Human Resources, and is based in our Miami, FL office.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation of new Human Resources policies, processes and procedures as well as providing support in the development of Human Resources initiatives and ad hoc projects.

Manage value-added talent programs such as corporate social responsibility and performance management.

Conduct new hire orientation and employee/manager check ins.

Oversee employee relations matters and investigations, specifically at staff to mid-manager level, to minimize organizational risk.

Advise and respond quickly to management needs regarding general Talent & HR issues.

Point person for immigration inquiries, case petitions and work all relevant documentation between legal counsel.

Work with Benefits team to administer leaves of absence including short-term disability, long-term disability and FMLA.

Help drive people and culture initiatives focusing on retention, engagement, recognition and talent management.

Partner with HR team & leadership on action plans from employee engagement survey results.

Provide counseling and support on corporate policies and benefit programs to employees.

Conduct exit interviews for exiting employees.

Deploy internal communication to agency regarding benefits, events, and late-breaking information.

Help plan for culture initiatives and lead company events.

Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations.

Ensure employee data integrity; effectively utilize tools and HRIS technology.

Qualifications

Spanish language fluency is a plus.

Knowledge and experience implementing Human Resources practices and procedures.

Experience working in agency preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and with remote teams.

Detail-oriented, organization and prioritization skills a must.

Has a learning mindset, natural curiosity, and drive for problem-solving.

Motivated team player who enjoys contributing ideas in a collaborative work environment.

Ability to exercise consummate professionalism and possesses an aptitude for agility.

Ability to make decisions quickly using sound judgment.

Ability to identify potential employee issues early on and address them proactively.

Flexibility and awareness on how to partner with other HR and business functional areas (i.e., legal and finance).

Candidates with benefits, immigration, and payroll experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge of general HR practices, policies and pertinent legislation governing employment relations.

Experience/Skill: 5-7 years in the Human Resources field in a similar role.
