Overview:As VP of Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that scale our brand, enhance customer acquisition and retention, and maximize campaign success. You will oversee the Retention, Site, Creative, and Social teams to ensure an aligned, data-driven approach that drives growth and amplifies the Little Words Project mission. You will also be responsible for liaising with the Paid Growth agency that drives all paid efforts from social/search and affiliate platforms. Reporting directly to the President you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our brand and its impact on our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Marketing Strategy:

Develop and implement a cohesive marketing strategy that aligns with business goals, driving customer acquisition, retention, and overall brand growth.

Campaign Management:

Oversee the successful execution of comprehensive 360 marketing campaigns from concept to launch across all channels (email, social, paid media, influencers, retail, etc.), to achieve business goals, enhance brand equity, and drive revenue growth.

Creative Feedback: Provide creative feedback and guidance to ensure all marketing collateral, campaigns, and communications reflect our brand's essence and values

Growth Marketing:

Liaise with Growth Marketing agency and assist in optimizing growth marketing strategies across digital channels, focusing on scaling customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value.

Oversee Channel Teams:

Directly manage the Retention, Site, Creative, and Social teams, fostering collaboration and alignment to optimize customer experiences and achieve business goals.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

Work closely with product development, brand, sales, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and a unified approach to market presence. Liaise with PR team to ensure proper amplification of all initiatives.

Team Leadership:

Lead, inspire, and mentor a talented marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and results-driven execution. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and ensure the team's continuous development and alignment with company goals

Data-Driven Insights:

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies and campaigns. Measure campaign performance, providing actionable insights and driving continuous improvement across all marketing efforts. Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, and analyze consumer insights to inform strategic decision-making.

Budget Management:

Assist SVP of Brand to Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to maximize ROI and meet growth targets. Monitor expenditures and optimize marketing investments to achieve the best possible return.

Executive Reporting:

Provide regular reports to the SLT, sharing insights on campaign performance, growth metrics, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications:

10+ years of marketing experience with a strong emphasis on Consumer Performance and Brand Marketing.

Proven experience leading successful marketing campaigns and optimizing growth channels in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Strong understanding of key marketing channels including Retention, Site, Creative, and Social, with the ability to optimize and drive performance across each.

Expertise in digital marketing channels (paid search, social, email, SEO) and demonstrated ability to scale growth through data-driven strategies.

Leadership experience, with a track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams.

Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to turn insights into actionable strategies.

Strong creative eye with the ability to ensure creative direction as set forth by Creative Director is aligned to overall brand

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence a team and collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
