The primary purpose of this position is to support the needs of our national account customers by developing sales and business strategies that will increase sales and form long lasting business partnerships. The role leads a large portion of the retail business along with numerous independent buying groups and cooperatives. This position will be responsible for supervising a team of Account Managers as well as managing two of the key national accounts directly.

Primary Functions:

Develop and implement strategies for growing the business with our national account customers. Work closely, at all levels of the business internally to support a productive, proactive and profitable business relationship with them. This requires an understanding of all cross-functional departments of VELUX. Direct management of Home Depot account with support of additional .com Account Manager, focusing on all aspects of the business in-stores and e-commerce. This includes work with various levels and departments within. Supervisory role with Lowe's with an Account Mgr. on the team as the lead manager on daily activities with various levels and departments. Direct management of one non-home center national account and supervisory role with several other non-home center national accounts with Account Mgr. taking the lead on those accounts Leverage and develop opportunities to expand VELUX business via these non-home center national accounts through team leadership and leveraging pro partner development efforts. Work closely with national account sales representatives that are based in strategic markets, while facilitating support for the field sales team to promote initiatives within top performing stores. Field based work regularly with national account sales representatives and as needed in other areas. Manage and develop Account Managers including annual performance reviews, training and employee development. Develop and maintain store planograms and stock recommendations by market with the support of Account Manager. This includes analysis on program rationalization of SKU mix by geographic areas. Active understanding of POS data is a must with regular input provide to management on results. With the support of our Account Managers, Maintain SKU systems, compliance programs, and operational aspects within assigned national accounts. Consistent pro-active meetings with national account customers. This will include research and analysis of key sales drivers, KPI's and business development. Secondary Functions:

Stay abreast of trends within the Home Center Channel. Develop and maintain all sales reports from BWP reporting system to support all National Account customers as needed to effectively monitor the business. This includes sales performance, forecasting, including budgeting elements throughout the year. Monthly/Quarterly reporting to all accounts on sales and initiative progress, which may include additional accounts with the department. Prepare annual sales forecast as well as sales expense estimates and work within established budgets to control expenses and to maximize profitability within national accounts. Starting Monthly Salary:

$9,200 - $11,505/month. Compensation is based on the skills and experience of the candidate.

Qualifications

:

A Bachelors Degree is required. An applied knowledge of national account customers/mass merchant retail is desirable. At least five years of Outside Sales experience is recommended. Prior supervisory experience is desirable. The position will require regular travel nationally. It can be expected that up to two trips per month will be required on average (40-50 nights/yr), with the potential for more as required Must have demonstrated proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is beneficial. Must present a positive and professional appearance. Superior communication, both oral and written, and presentation skills are a must. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic business plans. Excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Must possess strong influence and persuasion skills. Demonstration of the ability to take initiative. Requires effective planning, prioritization, and target-setting competencies. Needs to demonstrate proficiency in coordinating multiple assignments and responsibilities simultaneously. Must demonstrate effective relationship management skills. Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.
