Providence Women’s Healthcare provides Gynecology and Obstetrics services in each of the three locations: Alpharetta / Roswell, Atlanta / Sandy Springs, and Peachtree Corners / Norcross. We are women caring for women.Our physicians are female OB/GYNs. Our midwives are certified nurse midwives. We offer a wide range of services in gynecology care, obstetrics care, and midwifery care, including ultrasounds, family planning, gynecology surgery, wellness, and even telemedicine. Whether you are experiencing your first pregnancy, you have OB-GYN-related health questions, are interested in water birth, or need a breast screening – we take care of everything.We are looking for an experienced and caring midwife to join our healthcare team. The midwife will be responsible for the physical, mental, and emotional care of their patients during delivery. You will provide prenatal and postnatal education, examine the patient during the course of the pregnancy, and assist patients in creating birth plans. You will also ensure the health and well-being of the newborn and mother during delivery. Must be licensed in Georgia to practice.Midwife Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform gynecological examsEducate patients on health, nutrition, and family planningPerform tests to obtain information about patients’ medical conditionsCounsel expectant mothers on birthing plans, including hospital care, birthing centers, and other optionsProvide emotional care for mothers during birthArrange prenatal planning and care for mothersPrepare for birthing by following all health and safety standardsCoach mother through the birthing processPerform deliveries and assist caesareansTend to the health and well-being of both the baby and mother during the processAssist surgeons and physicians in caring for the mother during complicated birthsProvide care for mothers after birthMonitor the patient’s vital signs and fetal heart rate during birthStudy patient history and health assessmentsCommunicate stages of birth to family membersExplain and demonstrate breastfeeding techniquesMonitor patient postpartum and be available for questions or concernsParticipate in research and further educational opportunitiesPerform CPR, NRP, or other emergency measures if needed

Midwife Requirements and QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited School of Nursing and Midwifery and certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board; additional education and certification a plusWill consider new graduates if at least 2 years experience as a bedside labor and delivery nurse.Current CPR & NRP (Must be current before applying for hospital credentialing)Fetal Monitoring course within the last 2 years NRP (Must be current before applying for hospital credentialing)Must be registered as a nurse in the state of GeorgiaAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCompassionate and caring of patientsAble to work in an intense, concentrated environmentCalm and cool-headed with a positive attitudeAble to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidaysGood leadership skills; able to mentor and educateAbout Providence Women's HealthcareProvidence Women’s Healthcare provides Gynecology and Obstetrics services in each of the three locations: Alpharetta/Roswell, Dunwoody/Sandy Springs, and Peachtree Corners/Norcross.
