Human Resources Generalist

to join the team. Chileda's population includes children with special needs, including Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Attachment Challenges, related developmental delays, and intensive behavioral needs.

Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist serves as an administrative and operational HR partner contributing to the success of Chileda's mission. The HR Generalist will support a wide range of key HR responsibilities in supporting the Menasha Learning Center and acting as the point person for leaders and staff for any day-to-day HR-related inquiries.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business or human resources or two years of relevant HR experience required.SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.Strong organizational and attention to detail skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to become an approved driver successfullyGENERAL HOURS OF DUTY:

This is a full-time, exempt position, working at least 40 hours per week.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Human Resources (based out of La Crosse, WI)

JOB DUTIES:

Act as a resource to leaders and employees, providing guidance on and interpreting company policies and ensuring that employee perspectives are heard and considered.Assist managers with providing recommendations on performance management, investigations, corrective action, and other employee-related job tasks.Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding activities. This could include posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling and attending interviews, preparing and delivering job offers, ensuring pre-employment requirements are successfully completed, creating and issuing employee ID badges, etc.Ensures compliance with governmental laws and regulations around EEOC, worker's compensation, FMLA, FLSA, etc.Effectively process position and status changes and terminations within the Chileda HRIS system.Assist in performing duties related to the processing of bi-weekly payroll.Collaborate with leaders and staff to facilitate employee engagement activities and events.Support leaders and employees in answering questions regarding the Chileda HRIS system.Administer benefits enrollment and terminations to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws. This includes communicating benefit information, answering benefit-related questions from staff, and acting as a liaison between employees and insurance providers to resolve benefits-related issues.Educate staff on Chileda benefits and promote benefits to increase the usage of benefits.Serve as a resource for employees and Chileda leaders by answering questions related to work-related issues.In collaboration with Staff Development, conduct and coordinate training for managers, including, but not limited to, new employee orientation, reasonable suspicion, leadership development, worker's compensation, harassment, discrimination, and performance counseling.Respond to inquiries, complete state paperwork regarding unemployment claims, and represent Chileda during any hearings.Assist with maintaining employee-related bulletin boards, intranet sites, and other physical or digital employee communication forms.Manage all aspects of Leaves of Absence, including Personal Leaves and FMLA for employees, issuing leave approvals, reviewing medical certifications, communication, and tracking of leave hours.Serve as HR contact for all workplace injuries, complete First Report of Injuries for all recordable workplace injuries, and communicate with Workers' Compensation adjusters for open cases (on an as-needed basis).Generate and provide HR-related metrics and KPIs to the Director of Human Resources on a monthly and quarterly basis.Support the HR team in initiatives and projects focused on talent development, onboarding, policy, benefits, and employee relations.Cover duties of the Administrative Assistant in their absence.All other duties as assigned.
