About the Position: The principal staff advisor to the Commander manages civilian and military workforce functions. Responsibilities include overseeing personnel actions, workforce analysis, recruitment, and compliance with policies. They also serve as a supervisor, managing subordinates, addressing performance, and resolving issues. The role involves guiding strategic decisions to improve workforce management.Responsibilities:Advise District leadership on civilian and military workforce functions, including staffing, retention, and performance management.Manage personnel requests and actions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.Oversee recruitment, assist with interview criteria, and ensure a diverse candidate pool through effective strategies.Assist in the management of strategic administrative plans, aligning with District goals and USACE requirements.Coordinate the District’s awards program, reviewing nominations and ensuring adherence to procedures for recognition.Oversee subordinates, setting priorities, evaluating performance, and resolving employee grievances or disciplinary issues.Requirements:Conditions of Employment:Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).Education:
