Description

Hennepin Health (HH) is seeking a health plan Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst to provide daily support for electronic business data interchange activities. This position will act as a liaison between the operational business areas, IT technical team, vendors and trading partners, and serve as back up for external EDI - related committees and workgroups

Location and hours:

This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Hennepin Health offices with the possibility for travel and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some occasional evening hours. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive

$500

toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:Provide daily health care business support for EDI activities including the daily monitoring of EDI file processing.Diagnose file issues and provide resolution.Assist the EDI manager in day-to-day operations.Maintain implementation companion guides.Support the development of interfaces; perform data audits to validate business information exchanged with health care providers; and generate detailed business reports, perform data analysis and business summaries as needed.Collaborate with health care business subject matter experts to analyze and document business requirements and work with the technical analyst to decompose them to create functional specifications for development, performing gap analysis and recommending potential solutions.Act as a liaison between the business areas, IT technical team, and trading partners, and serve as back up for external EDI - related committees and workgroups.Need to have:One of the following:

Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, management information systems (MIS) or other field appropriate to the position and four years or more of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.Eight or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.

Nice to have:Experience:

Analyzing health care payer systems/applications and coordinating system implementation plans.Managing complex projects to scope, timeline, and budget in the healthcare payer and/or financial industry.Troubleshooting software issues that affect data and knowledge of applicable data privacy, security practices and laws.Mapping healthcare business EDI transactions, including, but not limited to ANSII ASC X12 file standards with emphasis on the healthcare related 837P, 837I, 835 and 834 transactions sets.Familiarity with the implementation of CORE Operating rules, WEDI, and Minnesota Department of Health Administrative Uniformity Committee best practices.Documenting health system EDI operational solution requirements.

Knowledge of:

Formal project management and testing methodology; creation and execution of test plans and documenting of testing results.Health business systems development methodology; application development principles and process.ANSI 5010 837P, 837I, 835, 270/271, 276/277 files and 999 Acknowledgment, 277CA, 278 and 834 healthcare transaction sets.

Ability to:

Collaborate with the EDI Manager, project leads, business analysts, end users and third-party contractors to design, develop, test, implement, and document healthcare EDI business solutions.Develop and/or maintain business documentation of EDI requirements and specifications.Read and interpret documents such as ASCX12 User Guides, operating rules, and procedure manuals.Apply common sense and understating to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.Write and execute routine SQL reports and provide analytical data conclusions.Conduct research, track and manage open EDI solution issues and plans for resolution.Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and companion guides.Collaborate with other members of the IT and Delegated Vendor Management teams to assist in resolving problems with software products or systems related to EDI processing.
