About the Team

Our Sandblasters work closely with our Liner Bonders, Painters and Welders. This team forms part of the greater Production team which also includes Assembly, the Armour Shop, our Turret team and our Prototype shop. This role will be based full time at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.

About the Role

As a Sandblaster, you will be responsible for ensuring that the preparatory work and sandblasting is carried out efficiently. This position is essential to delivering the highest quality blasted products to the Paint and Weld teams, ready for their next production task.

As a Sandblaster, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:Cleaning and preparing surfaces using air-powered sandblasting equipment;Applying paper and masking tape to protect unpainted surfaces;Check conditions before sandblasting;Selecting, setting up, using and maintaining surface blasting equipment safely and effectively and reporting any faults;Sand blasting to specification and supplier information, as well as to Australian and international standards as required;Checking the finished item to ensure suitable for paint and pre-weld;Able to follow safety procedures and monitor quality control; andOther ad hoc tasks within the Paint and Weld team as directed.WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

Previous experience in surface preparation roles - sandblasting/pre-paint;The ability to perform heavy lifting (in line with safety requirements), standing (for long periods), bending and crouching;The ability to work effectively unsupervised and in team environments;Proven experience working with safe practices and in quality controlled environments;Completion of or willingness to complete abrasive blasting competency; andMust hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).WHAT WE OFFER YOU
