Responsibilities

Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for our AWS Engineer position. This position is responsible for support development, modernization and migration in support of government multi-cloud environment. This person will be responsible for resolving complex incidents, providing expert troubleshooting and performing proactive monitoring of AWS infrastructure and services.Day to Day Work Responsibilities:Serve as an escalation point from Tier 2 support for complex incidents and outages within the AWS GovCloud environment

Perform root cause analysis to address underlying infrastructure issues and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.Manage and resolve high-priority incidents, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders and affected tenantsContinuously monitor tenant environments using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other tools (Dynatrace, Splunk) to detect performance issues, security incidents, and infrastructure bottlenecksUtilize Dynatrace, Splunk, or other proactive monitoring tools to mitigate potential issues before they escalateAnalyze system performance and recommend optimizations to improve stability, efficiency, and securityManage and maintain the AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPC configurations, RDS databases, and other servicesEnsure that all tenants' s AWS resources are secure, FedRAMP compliant, and optimized for performanceCollaborate with the Architecture team to implement solutions that align with best practices for AWS cloud infrastructureAdhere to Change Management proceduresManage intake for assignment of newly created incidentsAs a team lead, work with Service Delivery Manager and support ISR Product owner to help work to improve overall team metrics (JIRA/ServiceNow)Collaborate and train Tier 2 engineers to resolve incidents and implement improvementsDocument incident response procedures, resolutions, and lessons learned to enhance team knowledge and preparedness for future incidentsProvide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing to Tier 2 support teams

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 5+ years experience, master's degree with 3+ years experience or high school diploma/GED with 9+ years experience.U.S. CitizenshipAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance5+ years of integration and systems analysis experience focused on AWS cloud services and infrastructure3+ years of extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of AWS services including but not limited to EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPC configurations, RDS databases, and other servicesExperience with incident management, root cause analysis, and resolving high-priority incidents in large, multi-tenant environmentsExtensive knowledge and understanding of AWS GovCloud and deploying in Government environments.Required Certification

: Relevant AWS Certification (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Cloud Practitioner, etc)Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CodeDeploy, or CodePipelineExperience with PowerShell, AWS CLI, or other automation scripts to troubleshoot and resolve issuesAWS Certified SysOps Developer AssociateAWS Certified Developer - AssociateAWS Certified DevOps Engineer - ProfessionalRelevant Agile CertificationOther Certifications such as Red Hat AnsiblePeraton Overview

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
