Key Accountabilities:
Assist with the overall operation and maintenance of the IT environment including both business critical and auxiliary systems and applicationsAssist in implementing security procedures for safeguarding systems, applications and dataAssist other team members in the design and implementation of system changes and/or enhancements and make recommendations to management for resiliency and scalabilityAssist in the installation, testing, and administration of server and related network hardwareBuild, deploy, configure and maintain Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) server operating systems and associated applicationsCreate and manage virtual servers in the environment utilizing VMware vCenter, AWS EC2/Azure and associated AWS services and manage backups using Veeam (on-premise) and AWS/Azure backup servicesDeployment of software and client system monitoring via DesktopCentralMonitoring systems and applications using Nagios and PRTGMaintain underlying systems of database server instances (MySQL/PostgreSQL/AWS RDS) including installation, configuration and tuning of the RDBMSUpdate systems’ configuration (security and operation) in accordance with corporate guidelinesServe as a mentor/escalation point for other team membersMaintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assignedProvide after hours emergency support, as neededQualifications:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent OR a minimum of five years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong working knowledge of Office 365, Teams, Sharepoint and AzureAbility to work with little or no direct supervision, and self-task based on the needs of the environment and/or continuous improvementMust have excellent customer service skillsExperience working in Azure and AWS environments to build and deploy servers and servicesStrong Linux Server Administration principles and troubleshooting experienceStrong Information Technology (IT) principles and troubleshooting experienceProficiency with Linux shells and scripting languages (bash shell required; Perl/Python a plus)Working knowledge with Microsoft Active Directory groups, GPOs, user accounts, sites and services, and other objects and rolesAdvanced experience with DNS and DHCPAdvanced experience with system patching, 3rd party software patching and software deployment utilizing tools such as SCCM, ManageEngine Endpoint Central and other 3rd party system management software (including dnf/yum)Experience with storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologiesExperience using ticketing systems to manage and respond to end user requests and project and task management tools (specifically Jira Software, ManageEngine ServiceDesk, Smartsheet, O365 tools)
