SUMMARY

The purpose of the Crisis Clinician position is to act as a stabilizer and provide assessment, counseling and service linkage to MCR participants. This position provides individual, family and/or group therapy, school advocacy, life skills training and educational & therapeutic group activities as defined by client need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain an active caseload of 15-20.Facilitate groups to support Individual Treatment Plan/Case Plan.Ensure all required crisis intervention documentation is complete and accurate.Complete all funder and/or agency required intake documents, assessments, consents, service plans and forms (IMCANS), safety screens, internal/external referrals, progress notes and other required paperwork) within required timeframes.Attend bi-weekly Clinical Team meetings within assigned area for purposes of ongoing program development related to clinical efficacy, case review/staffing, and professional development.Provide Linkage and Referral services specific to client and family needs during time of crisisProvide required documentation (i.e. mileage, time sheets, etc.) as indicated by agency protocols.Participate in individual, group supervision, and program staff meetings as scheduled to address client issues and revised documentation, placement options, and crisis schedules.Comply with Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) program standards and requirements for MCR.Comply with the State of Illinois mandated reporting law.Complete all required Federal, HFS and Agency Core Curriculum and Mandated Reporter trainings, meetings and workshops as required.Serve as the on-call back up crisis worker for responders and case managers.Work collaboratively with responder and case managers for follow-up with families.Provide day-time crisis intervention/counseling to all youth and families on a no-decline basis.Responsible for maintaining the Electronic Client Record.Communicate with Clinical Supervisor when crisis arises during session.Complete all Core Curriculum training(s) required for the position.Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, i.e. timesheets, vouchers, progress notes, incident reports, etc. and submit in a timely manner.Complete all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master's degree (MA/MS/MSW) required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Must be available to work evenings and weekend and flexible in scheduling. Must be able to accept and incorporate constructive feedback.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Illinois driver's license with a clear driving record.

Documentation verifying current automobile insurance.
