Responsibilities

Peraton seeks an

AWS Software Engineer

that will play a key role in designing and developing AWS native applications for United States Medicare beneficiaries. Working as part of an agile team, this position will create front end and back-end application components and APIs to support development and enhancement of cloud-based solutions. The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is customer-focused and team oriented, and demonstrates interpersonal skills that encourages creativity and continuous improvement.Responsibilities include:Effectively collaborate as part of an agile team in the delivery of software components to includes participation in sprint ceremonies such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand up, retrospectives, etc.

Provide expertise and direction in the development and medication of AWS based Web applications and APIsProvide requirements analysis, software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of custom solutionsEnable automated deployments to AWS through the creation and use of CI/CD PipelineDocument solutions and specifications in Confluence, create and complete user stories via Jira, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders via Slack.Collaborate with Operations and Site Reliability Engineering team to leverage available platforms, infrastructure as code templates, and continuously optimize application performanceCreate front end components using Java, Java Scripts, React or similar languagesAssist with the development of database entities using Amazon RDS and DynamoDBPerform peer reviews of application code and mentor junior developers

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree and 8 years Software Development experience5 years developing software applications on AWS3 years of experience in designing, implementing and consuming CI/CD Pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Groovy, Ansible, SonarQube or similar toolsetsVery Strong Java skills and experienceDemonstrated experience building APIs on AWSAWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Solution Architect - AssociateExperience with program languages and technologies including Groovy, Python, Bash, Go, Markdown, XML, JSON, SQL, ReactJS, CSS, XHTMLExperience with AWS Database such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDBExperience using GitHub, Jira, Confluence, TestRailExperience building, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availabilityUS CitizenshipPeraton Overview

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
