Summary

The Underwriting Intern will assist in a wide variety of projects supporting our Commercial Lines teams. This individual will work alongside underwriting and sales staff, learn about insurance, sales, and the jewelry industry, providing experience that will help prepare them for a career in any of these areas after graduation.

Other duties may be assigned.Be part of the underwriting process by assisting with tasks such as updating underwriting files, importing websites, diagrams, aerial photos, evaluating property insurance to value, ITV evaluations, loss runs, etc.Underwrite small business renewal accounts from start to finishLearn about the insurance industry through job shadowing and ride-along opportunitiesCompile lead lists and other data to assist the sales team in promoting Jewelers Mutual Group to prospectsUpdate SOPs and other team reference materialsPerform targeted project workTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Current enrollment in a related curriculum at an accredited technical school, college, or universityBe part of the underwriting process by assisting with tasks such as updating underwriting files, importing websites, diagrams, aerial photos, evaluating property insurance to value, ITV evaluations, loss runs, etc.Underwrite small business renewal accounts from start to finishLearn about the insurance industry through job shadowing and ride-along opportunitiesCompile lead lists and other data to assist the sales team in promoting Jewelers Mutual Group to prospectsUpdate SOPs and other team reference materialsPerform targeted project workPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls; and talk or hear.
