MILLIONS of customers will be impacted by your contributions:The changes we make directly impact the customer experience on every client site.This is a great position for someone who likes backend development and Service Oriented Architecture, but wants to see and measure their direct impact on customers.We are seeking a strong Software development Engineer to lead Delivery Experience worldwide.Delivery Information is a mission critical product for shopping experience on client retail website.Any time someone is shopping on the client, the delivery information will mostly be owned by your team, you will join the technology team that inform customers when they can get the product/item, rendering billions of delivery messages per day.This an incredibly innovative space and there are tons of highly complex technical challenges and innovative opportunities since delivery experience is one of the key areas that customers value the most in online retail.Story Behind the Need - Business Group & Key Projects:

Business Group:

Team is a Delivery experience QA teamSelf owns customer facing pages.They are the QA team to support testing any of the newer features, migration, or applications that are being performed on those pages. Also, the services that are performed on those pages.QA team has BOTH QAE & SDET'sQA's work on the functional testing part of it. The manual test plan creation, test execution, making sure feature is being manually tested.SDET's are trying to find opportunities to automate them so they can scale the testing efforts and reduce the manual efforts that they are testing any of the features.Will be part of the SDET group - where they will work on building frameworks, onboarding services to the client proprietor frameworks for any of the shadow testing, and make sure they have good test coverage across their services.Work on solving some problems with the test data that the QA's may have, doing the testing.Build tools on platforms such as Native & AWS - then using the services so they have a way to use the customer orders for internal testing.Stripping out all of the confidential of the information.Contractor joining team will be working with SDET group to work on any of the initiatives with the team.They are expected to work on operational excellence (tickets, adding to security risk, making sure rules/frameworks are up to date for Policies)Key projects:

Couple projects: ramping up the tests that are currently in the pipeline.Currently A lot of issues with the tests, framework is not very trustworthy, switching to a different framework and also try to find a different mechanism of leveraging the data for testing.Also - building a tool that solves the test data problem for all DEX ORG. This tool is built within NATIVE, AWS, LAMBDA FUNCTION (Looking for candidate to have this knowledge)Typical Day in the Role:

Interaction levelSDET groupA lot of projects within QA team, there will be a lot of contact with SDE's closely across DEX org.Interactions with the SDE's to get any code reviews, knowledge on services that are owned by SDE teams.Don't expect interaction with PM'sCompelling Story & Candidate Value Proposition:

3+ years, ideally 4+ years of experienceDegrees or Cert:

Java cert around 17 or 11, would be an added value not a requirement.Open to candidates without BA in engineering as long as the experience is there.Coding language required:

Solving complex problems, trying to break them into smaller chunks and not seeing it as a complex problem.Context switching - may be asked to work on different projects than originally planned as things change within the team.Top 3 must-have hard skills
