Buyer / Planner

The Buyer/Planner follows the procurement process and finish good planning to ensure availability of materials and goods for production and customer needs. Responsible for analyzing demand, creating purchase orders, creating manufacturing orders, coordinating with suppliers and operations to meet customer requirements while minimizing cost. Monitor and expedite orders, resolve supply-related issues, and collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing activities and production schedules. This role has both procurement and production planning responsibilities:
Procurement:
Convert purchase requisitions in purchase orders or directly enter into the ERP system, ensuring accuracy in specifications and price.Collaborate with requisitioners and clarify needs and work to get lowest price.Source materials from our approved supplier list, ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards.Monitor and expedite items as needed to ensure on time delivery, while also de-expediting to maintain optimal inventory turnover.Work closely with suppliers to resolve disputes, problems, or rejections promptly and effectively.Maintain accurate delivery schedules and due dates in the MRP system, aligning with customer demand.Analyze material status and levels to ensure sufficient supply.Oversee inventory levels, safety stock, and MRP parameters using supply chain systems to optimize customer fulfillment.
Production Planning
Analyze demand and schedule production based on inputs such as historical data, customer requirement, forecast and inventory stocking strategies.Review and update all planned manufacturing orders to appropriate finish dates.Collaborate with operations and scheduler to ensure schedules will be adhered to.Schedule finished good production to align with demand, organizational direction, and stocking strategy.All other duties as assigned.
