Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the full product life cycle for new or existing Analytics Products, including strategy, design, development, management and end of life/ phasing out.

Liaison between business and Analytics/Data Science development scrum teams

Sets and manages priorities for Analytics and/or Data Science product development

Provides strategic leadership for Analytics/Data Science products

Works with internal and external customers to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals while successfully managing these relationships and expectations.

Solves product related problems and makes decisions based on product strategy

Makes presentations to Senior executives and decision-makers advocating and demonstrating the value of Analytics and Data driven products.

Builds relationships and drives awareness and knowledge of advanced analytics while promoting the capability areas of Advanced Research & Analytics(ARA) team

Leads innovative ideation sessions to define business needs, and translates them into process/data flows and Epics/Features/Stories with accurate success criteria.

Determines framework to calculate measurable value of analytics product to Operations and the Enterprise as a whole

Partners with Data Scientists to develop capabilities and with Data Engineers to bring capabilities into production

Monitors Analytics Products after deployment to determine if expected value is realized, making adjustments to improve the product, as needed.

Utilizes creative thinking and understanding of Claim Operations to uncover the “art of the possible” when applying Data Science solutions to Claim Operations business problems

Participates in translation of product vision into operational design

Works across three lines of business – Employee & Individual, Medicare & Retirement and Community & State

May support a single product or multiple products

Stays up to date on emerging Data Science, Data Engineering and Data Architecture trends and capabilities

Effectively navigates organizational matrix to accomplish work – both the formal channels and informal networks

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience utilizing Agile frameworks

2+ years of experience as a product owner or scrum master in Analytics or Data Science product development

2+ years of experience with working with offshore resources as part of a larger development team

Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and perform effectively in that environment

Proven excellent interpersonal skills

Proven effective communication skills

Solid knowledge of Analytics and Data Science techniques and algorithms

Knowledge of claim operations in a large health insurance company

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
