Position Overview:The Licensed Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing comprehensive therapeutic services, including individual, group, and family therapy, to clients with a variety of mental health concerns. This position involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and preparing discharge summaries upon the completion of services. The Licensed Mental Health Professional will collaborate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective and individualized care.

Key Responsibilities:

Therapy Services:

Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care).Address a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship issues.Create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that fosters client growth and progress.

Assessments:

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to determine the client's mental health status, needs, and strengths.Utilize standardized assessment tools to gather information on psychological, emotional, behavioral, and social factors.Diagnose mental health disorders using DSM-5 criteria.

Treatment Planning:

Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client goals.Collaborate with clients to establish realistic, measurable, and time-bound treatment objectives.Adjust treatment plans as needed based on client progress, feedback, and clinical judgment.

Case Documentation:

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records, including session notes, progress reports, and treatment plans.Complete discharge summaries detailing treatment progress, goals achieved, and recommendations for follow-up care.Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards for documentation.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, case managers, social workers, and medical professionals, to provide coordinated care.Engage in case consultation and participate in team meetings to ensure holistic treatment approaches.Provide psychoeducation and resources to clients and their families to support continued mental health management.

Crisis Intervention:

Respond to client crises with appropriate interventions, including risk assessment for harm to self or others.Develop safety plans and make referrals for higher levels of care when necessary.

Client Discharge:

Prepare discharge summaries that outline the client's progress, ongoing needs, and any follow-up recommendations.Coordinate referrals to external providers, community resources, or aftercare services as appropriate.

Professional Development:

Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research, interventions, and techniques in the mental health field.Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Qualifications:Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.Active state licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.Proven experience in clinical therapy, assessments, and treatment planning.Strong understanding of DSM-5 diagnoses and evidence-based treatment modalities.Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation.Preferred Skills:

Specialized training in trauma, addiction, or specific therapeutic modalities.Work Environment:

This position typically requires working in an community health setting.
