Gardner Health Services is currently recruiting to fill four (4)

Mental Health Specialist (MHS) or Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS)

positions. Placement into the appropriate position depends on qualifications. These are a full-time positions in the Family and Children's Division of the Behavioral Health Department based out of the Gardner Health Services Corporate Office located at 160 E Virginia Street, San Jose, CA 95112. This MHS/MHRS position will be assigned to to the First 5 program. The Family Resource Center is a First 5 funded community based program where children, parents, and caregivers focus on strengthening family competencies in various areas of healthy child development. Gardner Family Resource Center offers free resources, educational activities, and parenting workshops for families with children under the age of 6, providing support and developing the skills children and families need for success. The ideal candidate will have a background in providing psycho-social-behavioral services to children, adolescents and their families. Commitment to helping others within a community setting, attention to detail, and documentation skills are important characteristics the successful candidate must have.HIRING BONUS!

Gardner Health Services is now offering hiring bonuses for qualified Mental Health Specialists and Mental Health Therapists! Mental Health Specialist with a Bachelor's Degree will receive a $5,000 bonus and Mental Health Therapist's with a Master's Degree will receive a $7,500 bonus.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications of this position is listed below. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The Mental Health Specialist position requires a minimum of a BA degree and up to three (3) years of experience and/or AA degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience. The Mental Health Rehab Specialist position requires a minimum of a BA Degree plus (4) four years of experience and/or AA degree plus (6) six years of experience and obtain a mental health rehabilitation specialist counselor certification from the County of Santa ClaraKnowledge of principles of psychiatric, psycho-social and behavioral social work counseling and other related techniques; community resources in designated areas; required knowledge of DSM IV.Ability to apply casework skill effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships; secure and record accurate and pertinent social personal data.Strong time management and organizational skills.Effective problem solving skills.Bilingual/bicultural skills (read, write and speak).Preferred: Possession/or working on hours towards a valid clinical license (e.g. Social Work Marriage or Family Child Counselor) issued by the State of California. New hires must possess a State of California clinical license within four (4) years of completing post graduate work.

Compensation:

Compensation and level of position placement will be determined based on relevant experience and education.

Mental Health Specialist: $64,917.08 - $66,864.59/Annually

Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist: $68,870.53 - 75,256.69/Annually
