Network Engineer . The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading network systems. This role involves analyzing design specifications, performing LAN/CAN/WAN administration, and coordinating with users to resolve network incidents. The engineer translates business requirements into telecommunications solutions, conducts engineering analysis for modernization efforts, and assists end users with network interfaces.

What you will do

Performs network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networksAnalyzes design, specifications, and related documentsPerforms general LAN/CAN/WAN administrationSchedules conversions and cutovers.Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidentsTranslates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and ordersPerforms engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructuresAssists telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management with network interfacesWhat you need to have

Bachelor's Degree and 10 to 12 years of experience; Master's Degree and 8 to 10 years of experience; PhD and 5 to 7 years of experience (in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 6 additional years of relevant experience)

Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS-SCI clearanceCertification: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level III baseline certification as defined by DoD 01-M is requiredCisco certification is requiredDeploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologiesConfigure and optimize the network to connect various front-end and back-end componentsGather needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirementsImplement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), IP Encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriateOptimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow managementConduct data captures to obtain network performance informationMinimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.Provide input to the design of the organization's network and mission architectureWhat we'd like you to have
