Labs is an internal team at Valor that builds software to support the Firm's investment process. It comprises software, data, and machine learning engineers as well as data scientists with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience. The team's mission is to build cutting edge software applications and data models that generate proprietary investment insights and provide the investment team with tools that augment the investment decision making process.
About the Role:
We are looking for candidates with experience in full-stack software development, backend software development, or data engineeringYou will closely collaborate with stakeholders to help build valuable products and features that support the Firm's business processesAs a
full-stack software engineer , you will:Build responsive web applications using React Hooks and Material UI in a Progressive Web Application (PWA)Build and maintain modern REST APIsAs a

B.S. and/or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field4+ years of software development experience, with significant contributions that you can talk toFor full-stack software developers
Exceptional coding skills in JavascriptExperience with React (including Hooks and Context) or similar front-end framework
Exceptional coding skills in Python
Additional skills in RESTFUL API design, especially Flask, Django, or FastAPI are good to have
Highly proficient in SQL, with working knowledge of multiple database types
Experience with designing SQL schemas and working with an ORM
Experience with modern cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)Experience architecting, deploying, and managing Infrastructure using DockerAdditionally, experience with any of the following is a bonus:
Modern ETL tools (Prefect, Airflow, Kafka, Spartk, PySpark or similar)Managing Kubernetes clustersElastic SearchDevOps (incl. Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform)Our Tech Stack:
