The Center of Digital Excellence or CoDE is the IT department for USCS that supports our mission critical warehouse operations, our various corporate ERP systems (HR, Accounting, Finance, etc.) and our enterprise data reporting, analytics and data science solutions.

The Job Details:

The Data Architect will be responsible for designing and managing the data architecture and infrastructure that supports USCS’s data solutions. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security, while also driving innovation in data management, governance and analytics to enhance reliable decision-making processes.

The responsibilities include:

Data Architecture & Design:

Design and implement robust, scalable data architectures using Snowflake.Develop and maintain data models, databases, schemas, and data warehouses.Ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of data systems.Data Integration Pipeline Development:Design and document data integration architecture and solutions.Design and manage pipelines to move and transform data from various sources to Snowflake.Optimize data integration processes for performance and reliability.Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on best practices and architectural standards.Performance Tuning & Optimization:Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, including query performance, storage optimization, and resource management.Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data infrastructure.Data Governance & Security:Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.Implement and manage data security measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain comprehensive documentation for all data architecture and processes.Generate reports and present insights to management on data architecture performance and improvements.What We Are Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (preferred).7+ years of experience software development and designing the architecture.3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.Proven experience with ETL tools and processes.Proficiency in SQL and database management.Experience with data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Matillion, etc.Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Experience with agile development methodologies.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.The Job Specifics:
