North American leader in their manufacturing niche is in search of an experienced network administrator who has a desire to expand into Information Security. This role will be split between supporting the company's network infrastructure (WAN/LAN) and managing day-to-day Information Security operations. The successful candidate will be comfortable working closely with the company's Managed Security Services Provider, and leading the evaluation and implementation of new policies, tools, etc. to keep the environment safe.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as primary contact for network troubleshootingAnalyze & investigate events from Managed Security Services Provider, vendors, & internal toolsServe as primary point of contact to Managed Security Services ProviderDocument standard operating procedures for day-to-day Information Security operationsCreate a roadmap and implementation plan aligned with CIS controlsMonitor emerging threats and assess potential impact to the companyParticipate in vulnerability detection and remediation efforts across the enterpriseAssist in evaluating and deploying new security solutionsDevelop key Information Security performance reports for senior managementDevelop metrics and documentation for systems and processesCreate Incident Response (IR) plans and playbooks, and assist with incident response activitiesReview and recommend system-level patching for current vulnerabilitiesManage internal phishing and security awareness training programsEstablish and maintain strong working relationships with team members and departmentsDesign, implement, and maintain network security solutionsConduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scansDevelop and enforce security policies and proceduresManage firewalls, switches, VPNs, and network security toolsCollaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices across the organizationStay up to date with the latest security trends and threatsMinimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Cybersecurity5-8 years of networking experience, including:

Working with Cisco or Fortinet equipmentUnderstanding of VLANs, firewall rules, and network routing

Strong understanding Information Security practicesStrong understanding of Windows operating systems and security practicesProficiency with Microsoft 365 (M365) technology and security featuresFamiliarity with CIS Critical Security Controls or similar frameworksKnowledge of Anti-Virus, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and OSI modelUnderstanding of Windows Active Directory and Group Policy managementCertifications (some of the following certifications are nice to have)
